Questions for discussion

1. From a theological point of view, the narrative of superiority that the Russian church adopts, leaves theologians no other choice than to consider this nationalism as a form of essentialism and supersessionism that theological scholarly debates have since long left behind. How then can we refute, analyse and reject these narratives? Secondly, is it still useful to maintain contact with Russian universities and scholars?

2. The essentialist narrative used by Russian authorities (spiritual and secular) provokes also a renewed debate on values. How do we maintain the values we live by and how can they be defended? Should we also practice some self-criticism?
